The man has recognized (or been forced to recognize) that he has at least one problem and is now doing what is necessary get healthy. In that, he's like many, many other people. That's the whole of the story.

Not a big surprise since he was playing with a badly injured knee last year. That's probably when he got hooked on pain meds. But I still don't buy that he was "addicted to sex". Or that the pain meds led to his affairs. If the story is true, I would be very surprised if he played at The Masters this year.

I would recommend that each person who has made comments on this discussion do a google search of Ambien side effects. I have read several articles by men and women both which were written prior to the entire Tiger Thanksgiving episode. One thing these articles had in common was that all of them had extreme sexual urges which they could not control and that prior to taking Ambien they had never experienced such desires. I am convinced after reading them that there is something in Ambien which causes some individuals to lose total control of their inhibitions. The fact that there are postings by both men and women make me believe there is some veracity to their claims. I guess what we all should remember is that there are people in jail for causing wrecks which killed someone. People who claimed their accelerators stuck and they couldn't stop their cars with the brakes. I am talking about TOYOTA!! Could be Ambien is the human version of a STUCK TOYOTA ACCELERATOR!!!

Well take something other than Ambien to go to sleep. While you go take some Nyquil, everyone else should take responsibility. We blame our mistakes on everything from our parents, insanity, our ignorance, global warming, now Ambien. Really? It's could be true that Ambien could cause those type of side effects. But Tiger didn't just have sex with all those women. He also kept in contact with some of them even when he wasn't under the effects of Ambien, and told some that he loved them. That doesn't sound like just extreme sexual urges to me.

A major side effect of all pain meds is depression and addiction. Some are far more affected by the side effects as others. However, the sex addiction, typically is a power issue, which fits with alot of the Worlds, "powerfull people." Tiger can come out of it and I hope he does. He created his own problems.

You obviously haven't googled Ambien...if you had you would know that another side effect is suicidal tendencies...A good friend of mine, married, christian, & very happy took this drug to help him sleep (diabetic side effects sometimes cause sleeplessness). He got up one morning @ 3am, got in his car, drove to a bridge over a lake, & jumped in. In no way would this man ever have even thought of doing such a thing...to summarize, he had no reason to to commit suicide-every reason to live. But this drug that controlled his thoughts (as do many others), caused his death. There are many lawsuits out there as we speak for this very reason. If you are expressing an opinion, that's one thing...but judging without knowledge is proving your own idiocy....not meant as a cruel adjective...just simply correct.
